Amid ongoing tensions between the US and Iran, there are positive signs of a forthcoming peace agreement. According to Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, representatives of both countries have reached a final text of the deal. Pakistan is mediating between the conflicting parties and working to finalize the next steps.
Donald Trump said on Thursday that negotiations have made progress and a framework agreement is within reach. However, a senior US official made clear that it is not yet certain whether the agreement will actually materialize, as not all Iranian officials are on board.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghtschi confirmed the progress and stated that the memorandum of understanding in Islamabad has never been closer to completion. He warned, however, that the media should refrain from speculating about the content of the agreement until it is finalized.
Such a framework agreement would be a significant step toward ending the war that began on February 28 between the US and Israel against Iran. A ceasefire has been in place since April, but negotiations have been marked by tensions and disputes over issues such as Iran’s nuclear program and sanctions.
EuroPulse reported on June 12 about Trump’s decision to cancel a planned attack on Iran, shedding further light on the current situation. [https://europulse.today/trump-sagt-iran-angriff-nach-anrufen-ab/]
