Germany's DAX index closed 0.7% higher at 25,011 points on Tuesday, reclaiming the psychologically important 25,000 mark.

On Tuesday, Germany’s leading index traded little changed for most of the session before turning positive shortly before the close, ending at 25,011 points. That was a gain of 0.7 percent, pushing it back above the psychologically important 25,000-point threshold.

The Middle East continues to drive markets. The United States said it had completed its eleventh wave of strikes against Iran. US Central Command (Centcom), responsible for the Middle East, said the latest attacks hit aircraft hangars and drone storage facilities.

The announcement came after US Donald Trump had earlier vowed to intensify the strikes. The naval blockade is pushing oil prices higher. A new direction could come later Tuesday when the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) releases its report on American crude oil inventories.
