Russia launched a massive overnight attack on several Ukrainian cities using missiles and drones, killing at least eight people and wounding dozens, according to Ukrainian authorities.

Russia launched a massive overnight attack on several Ukrainian cities using missiles and drones, killing at least eight people and wounding dozens, according to Ukrainian authorities.

Russian forces attacked Ukraine in multiple waves. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, a total of 74 missiles and 284 drones were used. The strikes targeted Kyiv, Lviv, Kryvyi Rih, Vinnytsia, and Poltava, among other locations.

In Kryvyi Rih, six people died, including three children from one family, when a ballistic missile hit a residential building. Eight more people were injured. In Kyiv, a 31-year-old man was killed and two people were wounded. The Poltava region also reported one fatality.

In Lviv, two high-rise buildings were severely damaged. The number of injured rose to 37, including children. One person died, and one person is missing. Rescue operations are ongoing. According to Mayor Andriy Sadovyi, more than 20 residential buildings, a school, and two kindergartens were damaged. An unexploded missile was defused.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that none of the four Zircon/Oniks cruise missiles fired were intercepted. Of nine ballistic missiles, one was shot down, and 54 of 61 cruise missiles were intercepted. Additionally, 265 of 284 drones were neutralized. The attack triggered air alerts in Poland, and the Polish Air Force scrambled fighter jets.
