The software company Microsoft is intensifying its efforts to migrate users to Windows 11 by introducing aggressive discounts and new AI tools. According to Borncity, the strategy also includes a controversial CPU boost feature designed to temporarily enhance system performance.

Scott Hanselman, Vice President at Microsoft, dismissed concerns regarding the new feature, stating that similar techniques are also used in other operating systems such as macOS and Linux. He emphasized that technical reservations are often voiced by individuals without professional experience in operating system architecture.

The introduction of the new performance mode is currently underway as part of the Windows Insider Beta Program and requires special configuration tools. Microsoft is also testing a feature called Low Latency Profile, which is expected to significantly improve application responsiveness.

To accelerate the adoption of Windows 11, third-party vendors in the Microsoft Marketplace have launched aggressive pricing campaigns. Until May 18, 2026, lifetime licenses for Windows 11 Pro are available for less than ten euros, representing a fraction of the usual price.

These discount campaigns are part of a clear strategy, as support for Windows 10 version 22H2 already ended in late 2025. Microsoft is offering incentives such as access to Extended Security Updates (ESU) through Windows Backup to motivate home users.
