Artillery plays a central role in Ukraine's defense efforts, particularly under the challenging conditions around Kharkiv. The complexity of the situation is exacerbated by the rising number of enemy first-person view (FPV) drones, which have increased with the arrival of spring. The commander of an artillery unit, who goes by the name "Toyota," stated that Russian forces are intensifying their drone operations to locate Ukrainian artillery positions.
President Volodymyr Zelensky has emphasized that the Ukrainian army urgently relies on modern, long-range artillery and ammunition. In this context, agreements are in place with Norway for the joint production of 155mm shells to strengthen military capabilities.
Artillerymen must constantly adapt and camouflage their positions to avoid detection. "When we hear or see something flying, we immediately withdraw to protect our guns," Toyota added. This tactic is crucial to avoid losses and ensure the effectiveness of the artillery.
