Ukrainian anti-corruption authorities have suspected Andriy Yermak, the former head of the President's Office, of money laundering. According to ZDF, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) has uncovered an organized group allegedly involved in laundering nearly nine million euros related to a luxury construction project near Kyiv.
Yermak, a long-time associate of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, resigned at the end of November last year amid a corruption scandal. Searches at his residence have secured evidence that could prove his involvement in the activities.
In another context, a meeting of EU foreign ministers took place in Brussels, discussing additional military aid for Ukraine and closer defense cooperation. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas expressed optimism about Ukraine's military situation and pointed to "record-breaking" Russian losses.
President Zelensky stated in an evening video message that Ukraine is preparing for new attacks from Russia. "We also see that Russia has no intention of ending this war," Zelensky said. Defense Minister Boris Pistorius made a surprise visit to Kyiv to discuss further cooperation and the development of modern high-tech weapons.
