The European Commission has removed Greece from its list of countries with macroeconomic imbalances. The authority announced the decision on the sidelines of the EU summit in Brussels, as reported by Deutschlandfunk. The country had been on the list for 16 years.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis welcomed the decision. He said it was a sign of Greece’s economic recovery after the debt crisis. The European Commission had launched the procedure in 2010, when Greece was on the verge of national bankruptcy.
