The Oldenburg Regional Court has ruled that animal rights activists who entered a slaughterhouse in Lohne, Lower Saxony, and secretly filmed a controversial stunning method for pigs must pay for the resulting damage. Spiegel reports this.

The activists had entered the facility without authorization and later published the footage. The slaughterhouse operator subsequently filed a lawsuit. The court ruled in his favor and ordered the activists to pay compensation. The exact amount of damages was not disclosed.
