Saxony-Anhalt's Sven Schulze (CDU) has announced plans to introduce stricter regulations for citizens' income recipients. In an interview with the Rheinische Post, he stated that there are too many cases where benefits are received without any corresponding obligation. This is unfair to taxpayers and those who work despite difficult circumstances, such as single parents or individuals undergoing retraining.

"Those who are fully capable of working and sit at home from Monday to Friday should not be allowed to continue like this," Schulze said. He advocates for offering community service work and pushing citizens' income recipients to accept these opportunities. In Saxony-Anhalt, there are numerous job openings, particularly in agriculture, which are often filled by Eastern European workers.

Schulze emphasized that it is time to utilize the potential of citizens' income recipients. "Why are we not using this potential among those currently receiving benefits?" he asked. He announced that the legal framework would change and that he intends to implement these measures.

The CDU in Saxony-Anhalt is facing elections in September, where they currently trail behind the AfD with 26 percent, while the AfD stands at 41 percent according to polls. Schulze sees the need to convince voters with clear positions.
