The United States and Central Asian states have agreed to intensify cooperation on critical minerals. This was discussed during a meeting between US Special Envoy for South and Central Sergio Gor and representatives from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. It was the first in-person meeting in the C5+1 format, which brings together the five Central Asian states with the United States.

Gor emphasized that Donald Trump highlighted the region’s importance to the US during last year’s C5+1 summit in Washington. “Central Asia has not received the attention it deserves,” Gor said. In a separate meeting with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Gor stated that Tokayev “has a friend in the White House.”

Central Asia’s mineral wealth, particularly in Kazakhstan, is drawing increasing interest from Western countries seeking alternative sources of supply. Kazakhstan has more than 9,500 identified deposits, including over 100 containing rare earths. Transport remains a challenge, as the Central Asian countries rely on land and sea trade routes to reach global markets.

EuroPulse reported on June 12, 2026, about US President Trump’s cancellation of an attack on Iran, which had a positive impact on the DAX. More details can be found here: https://europulse.today/spacex-boersengang-treibt-dax-marktbericht/.
