US Donald Trump’s decision to call off the attack on Iran has lifted stock markets worldwide. The DAX is expected to start trading with a gain of more than 1.5 percent today, while the focus is on the upcoming IPO of SpaceX.

Hopes for an imminent peace agreement in the Middle East, fueled by Trump’s reversal, are driving euphoria in the markets. Ray Attrill, currency strategist at National Australia Bank, expressed optimism: “This looks perhaps a bit more tangible than what we’ve had before.” Wall Street recorded its biggest daily gains since early April on Thursday, driven by peace hopes and anticipation of the SpaceX IPO.

The Dow Jones industrial average closed up 1.9 percent at 50,848 points, while the S&P 500 gained 1.8 percent to 7,394 points. In Asia, the positive sentiment continues, with the Nikkei rising about four percent and South Korea’s Kospi gaining more than eight percent.
