Yum! Brands, the parent company of Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and KFC, wants to divest its pizza brand. According to Spiegel, the company is holding exclusive talks with investor Capital. Pizza Hut had recently become the conglomerate’s problem child.
The sale is expected to bring Yum! Brands a billion-dollar sum. With this move, the company is responding to growing competition in the fast-food market and shifting consumer preferences. By shedding Pizza Hut, Yum! aims to focus more on Taco Bell and KFC.
Capital, an investor specializing in restructurings, reportedly plans to put Pizza Hut back on a growth track with a new strategy. The focus will be on investments in delivery models, digitalization, and marketing. The deal is still subject to a final agreement.
