Zelenskyy discusses peace talks with Macron, Starmer, and Merz

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has discussed efforts to end Russia's war of aggression with French Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and German Friedrich Merz. According to Ukrainska Pravda, the leaders agreed to a meeting of their national security advisors soon.

Zelenskyy also informed the European partners about Russian plans that concern not only Ukraine but also Belarus and other regions of Europe. The countries’ intelligence services are to share relevant findings, the Ukrainian president promised.

“All partners note that Ukraine’s position is significantly stronger – both on the battlefield and in our reach. That carries weight, and it is precisely our pressure that can drive proper and effective diplomacy,” Zelenskyy said on his Telegram channel.

Another topic was communication with the United States. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio acknowledged a pause in peace talks on Ukraine on Friday but signaled Washington’s willingness to continue mediating if negotiations proceed constructively. Zelenskyy reported “good contacts” with the US and hopes for resuming talks with Russia.
