Josué Duverger plays for FC Cosmos Koblenz in Germany's fifth-tier Oberliga and is now Haiti's starting goalkeeper at the World Cup. Haiti kicks off on Sunday against Scotland.

Josué Duverger is one of three goalkeepers in Haiti’s World Cup squad, as reported by ZDFheute. The 26-year-old plays for FC Cosmos Koblenz, which was promoted to the Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar in 2025. Haiti faces Scotland, Brazil and Morocco in Group C of the preliminary round.

Duverger was born in Montreal and moved to Portugal at age 14 to become a professional footballer. This is only Haiti’s second World Cup appearance after 1974. The goalkeeper said: “It means everything to me. For Haiti, this is a very special moment – something that gives many people hope and joy.”
