The New York Knicks have won the NBA championship for the first time in 53 years. After the victory, the celebration of thousands of fans in Manhattan escalated – a World Cup shuttle bus went up in flames.

According to Spiegel, thousands of fans poured onto the streets of Manhattan on Saturday after the New York Knicks’ historic NBA Finals victory. The celebrations turned into chaos: rioters set off fireworks and smoke grenades, and there were clashes with police.

During the night, the rioters set fire to one of the yellow school buses that served as shuttles for World Cup fans after the Brazil vs. Morocco match. At least three other shuttle buses were severely damaged. Police blocked streets, initially letting fans celebrate, but then moved in with protective gear and cleared the streets around Madison Square Garden.
