Demand for fan jerseys of the German national team remains high despite steep prices. Equipment supplier Adidas has now faced a peculiar shortage: the letter V, which appears in the names of Kai Havertz, Alexander Pavlovic, and Deniz Undav, was temporarily unavailable. A company spokesperson confirmed the report by the “Bild” newspaper and said that the supply bottlenecks have already been resolved in cooperation with partner 11teamsports. Jerseys with the letter V should be available for online ordering again shortly.

Adidas outfits 14 of the 48 World Cup teams and expects revenue of one billion euros directly tied to the tournament in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. How much of that comes from jerseys, the company does not disclose. The blue away jersey of the German team is selling surprisingly well — according to Adidas, it is outperforming sales of the EURO 2024 away jersey. The home jersey is catching up with strong growth. Prices in Germany range from 100 to 150 euros.

The pink away jersey from 2024 was previously the best-selling national team away jersey. Other nations such as Curacao, Belgium, and Japan have also experienced supply bottlenecks in individual sizes. Competitor Puma, which outfits eleven World Cup nations, also reports strong sales — particularly jerseys from Portugal, New Zealand, Ivory Coast, Morocco, and Senegal are popular.
