The storm set in around 8 p.m. and turned streets into streams within minutes. An underpass on Lindwurmstraße flooded, and numerous basements were submerged. According to the fire department, there were no injuries.
Munich Airport was largely spared the worst of the storm as the thunderstorm passed to the side. Nevertheless, there were delays and cancellations because German air traffic control reduced flight operations and airlines canceled flights.
