The cyclist was carried several meters on the hood after the collision before falling onto the street. The 37-year-old suffered injuries that were initially reported as not life-threatening. He was taken to a hospital.

Police were alerted at around 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. According to initial findings, the taxi driver and the food delivery cyclist had already clashed at the corner of Sonnenstraße and Landwehrstraße. The reasons for this are still unknown.

After a few meters on Landwehrstraße, the 37-year-old got off his bike and spoke to the 46-year-old through the car’s side window. As he was about to get back on his bike, the taxi driver accelerated and hit his opponent. After the driver got out and approached the injured man lying on the ground, bystanders held him back. The 46-year-old was released after standard police procedures.
