The event took place Wednesday morning on Marienplatz, initiated by Verena Kayser-Eichberg and Professor Guy Katz. Many participants wore stickers reading ‘Antisemitism? Not with me!’ – a message that a Haidhausen fashion store has been spreading for more than ten years. ‘Many people in Munich reject antisemitism – but silence does not protect,’ the local politicians stated.

In addition to the AfD, the Left party was also not invited to participate. Left faction leader Stefan Jagel expressed annoyance: ‘We were not asked.’ Initiator Katz justified the exclusion by citing the Left’s Palestine demonstrations: ‘What they are doing here, you cannot do.’

Originally, a plane with a banner was supposed to circle in the sky during the event. Due to the weather, the flyover was canceled on Wednesday; it is now scheduled to be made up on Friday around 9:30 a.m.
