At the end of April, the Munich city council approved a minimum price for ride-hailing services such as Uber and Bolt. In the future, a base fare plus a per-kilometer charge will apply. In most cases, this is likely to make rides more expensive, as reported by the Süddeutsche Zeitung in its podcast “Hey München.”

In the podcast, the hosts also discuss the impact on the long-standing conflict between taxi drivers and ride-hailing services.

Another topic of the episode is the nearly forgotten rescuer of the Nazi party files: Hanns Huber, operator of a paper factory in Freimann, recognized the value of around eight million index cards of the NSDAP in the final days of the war, which were slated for destruction. He saved the historical documents at the risk of his life.
