The teenager and a man got into an altercation around 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday. The initially verbal argument began in a fast-food restaurant and moved outside to the other side of the street. There, the 16-year-old suffered severe injuries to his upper body, a police spokesman said.
The other person involved was no longer at the scene when police arrived. Police gave no details about the exact nature of the injury, a possible weapon, or the fleeing man. The investigation was taken over during the night by Department 11, which is responsible for homicide cases.
At Harras, more than 40 police officers extensively secured evidence. The teenager was out of danger by Thursday morning. Police are asking witnesses who made observations to provide information at 089/29100.
