More than 300 bikers gathered at a Munich hospital on Friday morning to fulfill the final wish of 16-year-old Alara, who is terminally ill with a brain tumor.

Massimiliano Caria, chairman of the association Isar 13 – Biker helfen e. V., learned of the teenager’s wish through a friend and immediately posted a call on social media. The biker community responded in force: with Harley-Davidsons, Aprilias and Ducatis, in leather gear or even a pink plush bunny costume, bikers and biker women came.

The girl, a big motorcycle fan, had been told about the surprise by her mother beforehand and briefly smiled. Hospital staff wheeled the 16-year-old’s bed to the staff entrance, where she could watch the parade up close with her parents. “I thought it was just awesome how over 300 bikers rode together to the hospital to fulfill the young girl’s last heartfelt wish. You can always count on the biker community,” Caria told the AZ.

The action received numerous positive comments on social media. Munich singer-songwriter and local politician Roland Hefter also thanked them with a “Bravo!” In the afternoon, the 16-year-old’s uncle spoke out, writing: “Dear biker community, I would like to thank you on behalf of myself and my entire family for this wonderful gift to my niece.” The association Isar 13 – Biker helfen e. V. regularly organizes actions to support people in need.
