The Munich Transport and Tariff Association (MVV) continues to expand. As MVV CEO Bernd Rosenbusch announced at the floating press conference on Lake Starnberg on Monday, the network is set to grow further. Next year, the district of Ostallgäu and the independent city of Kaufbeuren are to join. By 2028, the districts of Altötting and Traunstein, as well as the district of Oberallgäu and the independent city of Kempten, could become members. “Then it will be enough,” Rosenbusch said.
Augsburg, however, remains a question mark. Negotiations with the Augsburg Transport Association have been ongoing for two years. The merger planned for 2027 has been postponed. After this year’s local elections, Rosenbusch said, there will be a new attempt. New talks are scheduled for autumn.
