Arthur Fery, who grew up near the All England Club, has reached the Wimbledon semi-finals after a sensational week. He is the first wildcard player in 25 years to advance to the last four of a Grand Slam tournament.
This is Fery’s first Grand Slam semi-final – he had never made it past the second round before. His fearless performances have made him a local hero and crowd favorite.
Alexander Zverev from Hamburg remained calm about the expected support for his opponent. The match on Centre Court begins on Friday.
