On the night of July 26 alone, Russia attacked Ukraine with eight missiles and 136 drones of various types. The affected regions included Kherson, Donetsk, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Sumy, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Chernihiv, as well as the capital Kyiv. In Kyiv, three people were injured in a missile strike.
In Kharkiv, an attack drone killed one person and wounded nine others, including two children. Emergency services are on site. In Kryvyi Rih, firefighters are extinguishing a burning hardware store. The heaviest damage was reported in the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as Kyiv.
Zelensky called for more missile defense systems: “We must thwart Russia’s strategy of ballistic terror. That is why it is extremely important that deliveries of missile defense systems arrive on time. Every interceptor missile is currently literally helping to save lives when it is deployed here in Ukrainian systems and not sitting in the warehouses of our partners. I thank everyone who helps in this way.” Ukraine’s air defense shot down one Kh-59/69 missile, five Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles, and 104 combat drones on July 26.
