Children's cinema at Gasteig from €3, “Die Sterntaler” and “Peter Pan” on stage, and exhibitions for rainy days: the family programme for 4–13 November.

Munich has children’s cinema at €3 a ticket and fairy-tale theatre on offer next week – the programme for 4 to 13 November is out. Here is what the city and the organisers confirm.

Children’s cinema at Gasteig HP8. Kinderkino München e.V. is running its “Herbstfilmtage” at Gasteig HP8 (Hans-Preißinger-Straße 8). All screenings start at 3 pm:

  • Wednesday 4 November – “Wo die wilden Kerle wohnen” (Where the Wild Things Are), ages 8+, ends around 4.45 pm;
  • Thursday 5 November – “Lotta zieht um”, ages 5+, ends around 4.15 pm;
  • Friday 6 November – “Fritzi – Eine Wendewundergeschichte”, ages 9+, ends around 4.30 pm;
  • Friday 13 November – “Überflieger: Kleine Vögel – großes Geklapper”, ages 6+.

For its “Großes Kinderkino” series the organiser lists prices: adults €4, children €3, after-school (Hort) groups €2 per child. The page gives no separate price for the Herbstfilmtage, so check the ticket on München Ticket. Films are shown in German; for children still learning the language, visual stories such as “Lotta zieht um” are probably the easiest – that is our view, not the organisers’ advice.

Theatre for little ones. Münchner Theater für Kinder (Dachauer Straße 46, near Stiglmaierplatz) performs almost daily. “Die Sterntaler” (ages 4+) runs on Friday 6 November at 3 pm and Saturday 7 November at 10 am. Also on: “Kalif Storch” (Saturday, 3 pm), “Peter Pan” (Sunday, 10 am), “Die kleine Zauberflöte” (Sunday, 3 pm), “Die kleine Hexe” (Wednesday 4 November, 3 pm) and “Oh, wie schön ist Panama” (Friday 13 November, 3 pm). The city page lists no prices: tickets are sold via München Ticket, and the box office answers on +49 89 595454 daily from 10 am to 5.30 pm. Under-18s are admitted only with an adult.

If the weather turns. The Deutsches Museum’s Flugwerft Schleißheim shows “Inside the Suit – Der Mensch im Raumanzug” daily (9 am–5 pm; 11 November from 1 pm). At the Museum Mensch und Natur, “Jetzt geht’s rund – Kreisläufe statt Abfälle” runs until 10 January 2027, where children design a sustainable sneaker and practise sorting waste. The city does not publish admission prices, so check the museums’ own sites.

With so many prices missing, it pays to ask before you go: for families with several children, the gap between €3 and a full-price ticket adds up. The cheapest confirmed option is the cinema.
