TSV 1860 Munich suffered a defeat before the Federal Court of the German Football Association (DFB). The panel rejected the club’s administrative complaint against the revocation of its license for the 3. Liga. This seals the traditional club’s forced relegation to the Regionalliga – the ruling is final at the DFB level.
Havelse will take over the vacated spot in the 3. Liga. The Lions had originally been denied the license because investor Hasan Ismaik failed to meet a financing condition. The club filed a complaint on liability grounds to examine whether an alleged financial proof from Ismaik should have been accepted. The Federal Court did not recognize this.
Meanwhile, insolvency proceedings are underway against the previous operating company, which was jointly run by the parent club and Ismaik.
