The third final game of the German basketball championship between Alba Berlin and Bayern Munich ended with a 91:83 victory for the visitors. In front of 8,899 spectators in the sold-out Max-Schmeling-Halle, both teams delivered a thrilling thriller that Munich decided in their favor. This gives Bayern the first match point for the championship on Friday (8:30 p.m., Schmelinghalle).
The game started fast: in the first minutes, it went back and forth, with both teams hitting from distance. For Alba, Martin Hermannsson and Justin Bean were the most noticeable scorers, while Nenad Dimitrijević directed the game on Munich’s side. The defenses only slowly got up to temperature as the crowd celebrated every action. From the end of the first quarter, a typical attrition battle developed, in which Alba increasingly had problems creating good shooting opportunities.
