The Carolina Hurricanes are the 2025 Stanley Cup champions. In the decisive sixth game of the finals series, they defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 3-0 on Sunday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Carolina won the series 4-2, securing the second title in franchise history after 2006, as reported by Sportschau.

Head coach Rod Brind’Amour, who captained the Hurricanes to the title in 2006, repeated the feat as head coach. Carolina lost only three games throughout the entire playoffs and won every potential elimination game. In the first round, they swept the Ottawa Senators; in the second round, they swept the Philadelphia Flyers. The Eastern Conference Final against the Montreal Canadiens was decided in five games.

In the final, goaltender Brandon Bussi was the center of attention, having moved into the starting role after an injury to Frederik Andersen earlier in the series. Bussi recorded a shutout in the decisive game, calmly fending off attacks from the Golden Knights’ Jack Eichel, Mark Stone, and Tomas Hertl. Taylor Hall scored the 1-0 in the first period, Jackson Blake made it 2-0 in the second, and K’andre Miller sealed the win with an empty-net goal.
