The German government plans a significant increase in sports spending for the coming year. More than €361 million are earmarked – an increase that is primarily intended to benefit elite sports.
In addition to the overall budget, direct athlete funding is also set to rise. Sports associations reacted positively to the announcement and expect tangible improvements for competitive sports in Germany.
