Russian forces heavily shelled one of the thermal power plants of the Ukrainian energy company DTEK during the night to Friday. The facility stopped generating electricity as a result of the attacks, the DTEK group announced in its Telegram channel, according to the news agency Ukrinform. The equipment was significantly damaged.
The news outlet TrueUA reports, citing the company’s press office, that the facility suffered “significant damage” from the attacks. The statement says literally: “The power plant has stopped generating electricity.”
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale war of aggression, DTEK’s thermal power plants have been attacked more than 230 times, according to the company. Which plant was hit this time and exactly how high the damage is does not emerge from the statements.
