Irish rock band U2 have released a new single after nine years. The song is titled “Street of Dreams” and is an uplifting anthem that also includes Spanish lyrics. Frontman Bono sings, among other lines, “No abandones tus suenos” — “Don’t give up your dreams.”

The accompanying music video was shot in May in Mexico City. The band took part in the final of the Street Child World Cup 2026 there and performed the new song on the street in front of fans. Due to heavy rain and thunderstorms, a generator failed, prompting residents to invite the band onto their balcony, where the video was finished filming.

The new studio album, produced by Garret “Jacknife” Lee, is set to be released later this year. The title and exact date were not initially announced. The last studio album with new music, “Songs of Experience,” was released by U2 in 2017. In 2023, “Songs of Surrender” followed, featuring new recordings of older songs.
