A mortar grenade from World War II was found near the Amper river in Emmering (Fürstenfeldbruck) on Saturday afternoon. Police cordoned off the area and told residents to stay inside as a precaution.

A mortar grenade from World War II was found near the Amper river in Emmering (Fürstenfeldbruck) on Saturday afternoon. Police cordoned off the area and told residents to stay inside as a precaution.

The suspected bomb find was reported late in the afternoon. Police immediately cordoned off the area and instructed nearby residents to stay inside their homes until the situation was clarified.

Police specialists examined the object on site and determined it was a mortar grenade. However, the experts classified the unexploded ordnance as harmless. The grenade was removed later in the evening.
