Unterhaching town festival will take place from July 17 to 20 – but without the traditional fireworks. Mayor Korbinian Rausch (CSU) decided to forgo the pyrotechnic show because a pair of swans with offspring have settled on the Ortsparksee lake. The waterfowl are not to be disturbed by the explosive effects.
Instead of the brilliant fireworks on the final evening, there will now be a “quiet light magic” with musical accompaniment. The opening fireworks have also been canceled entirely. The festival site on Wallbergstraße offers space for around 20,000 visitors. The Maß of beer from the Augustiner wooden barrel will again cost 13.80 euros – keeping the price stable.
The program includes a senior citizens’ afternoon, a family day, a youth day, as well as broadcasts of the World Cup semi-finals and the final on a large screen. Other highlights are the model boat regatta on July 19 and the charity run “Run4Trees” on July 20.
