At the Müden Heidschnucke Day in Müden an der Örtze, the most beautiful Heidschnucke ram was crowned. A commission from the Lüneburg Heidschnucke Association examined the animals closely before the winner was chosen.
This year’s prize winner comes from Neuenkirchen in the Heidekreis district. It is an 80-kilogram young animal raised by breeder Franz Butz on his farm in the grazing herd. The Heidschnucke is considered a symbol of the Lüneburg Heath. The event also serves the sale of breeding rams for the region’s herds.
