But on Friday, the Alexianer group, which runs the hospital, announced that the necessary staffing levels for safe care could unexpectedly no longer be met. “The entire range of gynecological and obstetric services can no longer be offered as of now, ahead of the originally planned end date of July 31, 2026,” spokesperson Benjamin Stengl wrote.
The closure is linked to the nationwide hospital reform. Already scheduled appointments and planned treatments through the end of July can no longer take place. Patients with acute symptoms are asked to contact the Ernst von Bergmann Hospital in Potsdam. The rest of St. Josefs Hospital’s medical services remain available.
