Heimstettener See, affectionately called "Fidschi" by locals, could soon host holiday guests. A family of restaurateurs from Aschheim is planning a campsite there.

The quarry lake lies east of Munich, between Aschheim, Kirchheim and Feldkirchen. It owes its nickname to the relaxed flair reminiscent of the Pacific island nation – even though the distance is several thousand kilometers. So far, the shore is mainly popular with locals who enjoy the atmosphere with a cool drink.

The planned campsite is intended to allow travelers from farther away to get to know “little Fidschi.” Details on size, facilities or opening date are not yet known.
