Föhringer Ring in Munich completely closed for four weeks

The Föhringer Ring in northern Munich will be fully closed from June 22 to July 22. According to the Freising State Building Authority, the important east-west axis will then be closed to car traffic.

The full closure affects the section between the A9 and the district road M13 in both directions. The reason is the four-lane expansion of the road, which is entering a decisive construction phase. To secure a construction site north of the roadway, a so-called central longitudinal shoring must be erected – a support structure that is only possible with a complete closure.

The closure also affects the motorway exit of the Frankfurter Ring junction on the A9 towards Munich. Large-scale diversions will be set up via state road 2350, federal road 471, and state road 2340. For traffic coming from the east, district road M13 will be designated as a detour route.

Buses are exempt from the closure and can continue to use the Föhringer Ring. Periods of bad weather or unforeseen delays could shift the construction schedule.
