A preliminary heat record of 41.5 degrees Celsius was measured on Saturday.

The DWD is issuing heat warnings. The summer heat puts a strain on health, especially for older people or those with pre-existing conditions. “Overall, heat is now one of the most important environmental health risks in Germany and worldwide, alongside air pollutants,” says Alexandra Schneider, head of the Environmental Risks research group at the Helmholtz Center Munich.

The DWD warns of strong to extreme heat stress. You can see exactly where in our map. The weather service updates the forecasts from 11 a.m. and then several times a day.
