A 19-year-old caused a major police operation at the Flaucher bridge after brandishing a machete. According to officers, the young man was part of a larger group on Friday evening when an argument broke out over how to divide the drinks supply. During the dispute, someone suddenly handed the 19-year-old the roughly 50-centimeter-long machete, which he then waved around.
A 21-year-old felt threatened by the weapon and alerted the police. Because he mentioned the machete, officers responded with about 20 patrol cars to the Flaucher. The 19-year-old was arrested without resistance and released after police procedures were completed. Investigators now aim to determine whether the 19-year-old specifically threatened individuals and who gave him the machete. No one was injured.
