If you are still looking for something to do in the second week of Munich’s autumn holidays: from Saturday 31 October to Sunday 8 November, the Feierwerk Dschungelpalast (Hansastraße 41, Sendling-Westpark) hosts “Dschungel”, a nine-day cultural festival with theatre, music, children’s cinema and craft workshops. It is aimed at children aged three and up and their families. The motto: “Watch, join in, make it yourself.”
The organiser is the non-profit Feierwerk association, which runs the building as a cultural centre and multi-generation house; the Sendling-Westpark district committee supports the festival. Part of the programme is outdoors, and a kiosk is open while events run.
What the festival page lists for individual days:
- Monday 2 November: fabric painting for children aged four and up; children’s cinema runs Monday to Thursday (2–5 November).
- Friday 6 November: magic show with ARCATO.
- Saturday 7 November: participatory circus.
- Sunday 8 November: family concert with TOM & HEINER.
On the other days, including the opening weekend, creative activities form the core. Film titles and exact showtimes are not yet given on the festival page.
Two things are worth checking before you go. Opening hours: the listings portal Kindaling gives Monday to Saturday 14:30–18:00 and Sunday 14:00–18:00, which matches the format of earlier years, but the Feierwerk page does not state hours. As 1 November (All Saints’ Day) is a public holiday in Bavaria, a call to 089 72488-240 is a good idea. Price: Kindaling says admission is generally free, with possible charges for craft materials; the organiser has not explicitly confirmed this for 2026. In 2023, reservations for the children’s play and the magic show cost a flat five euros, and other items were not priced in the release. Booking by phone for the theatre and magic show is therefore likely to make sense – our reading of last year’s pattern, not a promise from the organiser.
Looking for alternatives on the same days? The city’s children’s listings include children’s cinema at Gasteig HP8 and plays at the Münchner Theater für Kinder, each with a ticket link on muenchen.de. More ideas in our autumn-break guide.
