Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) have continued their maritime drone campaign against Russia’s shadow fleet. August 1 and 8, twelve more vessels were struck in the Black and Azov seas, according to USF commander Robert “Magyar” Brovdi. This brings the total number of ships hit since the start of “Operation MoLoChKa” on July 6 to 218.
Brovdi said 134 ships were hit in the Sea of Azov and 84 in the Black Sea. The operation, run jointly with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), aims to disrupt Russian naval logistics and fuel supplies. Brovdi stated that shipping through the Kerch Strait has been effectively blockaded since July 10 — now for 30 days.
The latest strikes also hit targets deep behind Russian lines, including two tankers, four dry cargo ships, eight troop positions, two fuel and ammunition depots, and two radar systems. In addition, ten energy facilities in the occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia regions were struck as part of the parallel “Crimean Switch Off” campaign.
